The Rosaceae family, usually referred to as the rose family, includes Wild Cherry (also known as Black Cherry). It belongs specifically to the Drupaceae subfamily of roses.

Serrated leaves, five separate sepals, five separate petals, and a large number of stamens and styles are typical traits of the rose family. Wild Cherry trees, like most members of the rose family, display their stunning, fragrant, white-pink flowers in the spring. It can reach heights of 60 to 90 feet! The oval-shaped leaves have a little serrated edge, and in the fall, they change color from yellow-gold to crimson.
