Tourmalinated Quartz, also known as Tourmalined Quartz, is a rare mineral that contains needles of Black Tourmaline (also known as Schorl) within a Quartz structure. Quartz comes in a range of shapes and sizes, including points, masses, and druzes. Little is known about the mineral’s history or who discovered it. The first examples are thought to have come from Brazil in the mid- to late-nineteenth century. Although certain deposits have been discovered around the United States of America, the majority of this mineral still comes from this South American country.
