Come join us for the wacky feast! It’s been a long year and it’s time to blow off steam amongst friends and soon-to-be-friends. The Saturnalia, a seasonal celebration of this time of year for old Rome, was sacred to Saturn and celebrated as a reversal of what was the norm. It was a festival of Misrule where Masters served the servants, clothes were worn inside out/back to front, and all kinds of misrule ran amok. In England, it was called the Lord of Misrule and was known in Scotland as the Abbot of Unreason. A mock King was appointed and allowed free reign to be mischievous! (In earlier times, the poor dude was sacrificed, which we will skip.)

With this spirit in mind, feel free to wear your wackiest outfit, or hat, etc. (if you desire) and bring a little something to share, as this is a POTLUCK style feast.
