Working Against Yourself and Magic

You can’t plant a pot of flowers and then complain they died because you never watered them. And so it is the same when seeking out magical work. It is more than lighting a candle and walking away from it. You have to put in the intention, the desire, and the work behind what you are wanting to accomplish. If you come to me for a spell to help you find work, yet, you aren’t putting in applications anywhere – you are working against yourself You want a spell to make you a famous actor, yet, you’ve never auditioned for […]

Celebrating Yule

Today Yule is used to a lesser extent in the English-speaking world as a primary synonym for Christmas. Present-day Christmas customs and also practices such as the Yule log, Yule goat, Yule boar, Yule singing, and others come from pagan Yule. Today the event is commemorated in Heathenry as well as a few other types of Modern Paganism. The Pagan holiday known as Yule takes place on the day of the winter solstice, around December 21 when the planet’s axis turns away from the sun in the Northern Hemisphere. Many cultures all over the world have winter events that […]

Crystal Balls in our Nashville Store

Crystal balls have been used for scrying and divination for thousands of years. The art or process of “seeing” is known as “scrying.” Scrying is the art of looking into a reflective surface, such as glass, water, a mirror, or a crystal, to gain mystical insight. The information gleaned then is used to make decisions in one’s life. Many of the crystal balls we carry here at aromaG’s are crystal, reconstituted quartz, selenite, and obsidian. You’ll find both large and small crystal balls in our Nashville store and we can order extra-large balls for you by request. Crystal balls are not only […]

Two Men equals more soap, less stress

Roy has finally retired from his stress-laden job at the State of Tennessee after 28 years. We’ve been talking about it for years, planning for the day when we could work side by side in the company. Two men equals more soap production, faster turnaround times, and time to return to doing fairs, markets and special events. It is also the beginning of having more time to actually work on our vegetable garden, take day trips when the mood strikes, or have a coffee shop office day. Of course, he’s also working out in our home studio where he takes […]

Young Living – DoTerra – Aromagregory essential oils

Time and time again I am faced with DoTerra or Young Living distributors who come into our shop and turn their noses up when they see the price of our essential oils.  I have spent the last 13 years (as of this writing) learning about, researching, handling and using essential oils.  I am a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist, having to learn not only about essential oils and their properties (as well as do case studies on actual clients) but also about anatomy, physiology and how essential oils interact with the anatomy. The last time I encountered a DoTerra rep, I asked […]

Welcome to the soap and aromatherapy blog

Welcome to Making Bath Products. Here you will find soap making directions, soap recipes, video tutorials (coming soon), soap making recipes and everything you need to know about making soap and other handcrafted products. From how to make soap, how to cut it, cure it and package the soap – we will guide you through the entire process so that even the very basic beginner can start a soap or bath and body company. Not looking to start a business? That’s okay. Because our motto is – Everything you need to know about starting a bath company, a whole lot of fun for everyone else. All of the bath and soap recipes can be used at home for personal use or to share with friends and family.

My name is Gregory White and I have been making soaps, lotions, candles and bath products since 1998. Our soaps are found coast to coast, mainly in small boutiques – from a New York natural pharmacy to a Spa in Los Angeles. And it all began with an investment of $50 for supplies. Our soap company is the GREEN PERGOLA where we make and sell handmade soaps, essential oils, shea butter, aromatherapy candles, bath salts and natural liquid soap. Our site for wholesale bulk soap is SOAP BY THE LOAF where customers may order loaves or blocks of soap for resale with their own labels. So, as you can see, I’ve had over a decade to collect and test bath and body recipes. More about me, our company history and how it all started can be found on the ABOUT page.
